Shriners Children’s Open 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Top 5 Finish: Tom Kim (+275)
TPC Summerlin is a scoring paradise. Only three winners since 1989 have won with a score of less than 20 strokes under par. This is largely due to Summerlin being above sea level, having generous greens and fairways, plus comparatively easy rough. Those who tend to produce well here fall into a handful of categories. They most often rank highly in strokes gained: par-4s, strokes gained: tee-to-green and birdies-or-better-gained (or be back-to-back winner Tom Kim).
Kim is looking for the elusive tournament three-peat, and he would be the first player to do so since Steve Stricker won his third straight John Deere Classic in 2011. His 2024 statistics have not been as good as in years past, but he still ranks in the top 50 in the world in strokes gained: tee-to-green and birdie-or-better gained, while also being above field average in par-4 scoring.
Though Kim hasn’t played in a typical PGA Tour event since the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August, he played in the Presidents Cup last month. He has also consistently scored well at TPC courses and has some extra fire behind him going for the three-peat. With a generally weaker field, Kim is poised to break his winless streak, which started after he won the Shriners Childen’s Open last year.
