ZOZO Championship 2024 Prop Bet of the Week

Top 10 Finish: Kurt Kitayama (+180)

Finally, we get a field with some big names! With players like Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Max Homa and local legend Hideki Matsuyama in the field, we can attack some potentially big players. That said, there are solid values, as well. This shorter course will require much more production tee-to-green compared to other tournaments.

Kurt Kitayama is exactly the plater I want to attack with here. Among the entire field, he ranks fourth overall in strokes gained: tee-to-green and ninth overall in this stat on Tour this year. His putter has been a weak spot of late, but 2023 winner Collin Morikawa and 2022 winner Keegan Bradley also struggled with the putter those seasons, so it’s less of a concern for me.

Kitayama also has great recent performances in his last two starts. He was T25 at the Black Desert Championship and T10 at the Shriners Children’s Open, those being his third and sixth-best finishes of the season. Packing all of this together leads me to believe that Kitayama could not only finish T10 but there is a decent argument for him being the potential overall winner and getting his first win since the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Bonus PGA ZOZO Championship Prop Bet:

  • Round 1 Matchup: Sahith Theegala over Justin Thomas (-135)
