2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Betting Picks: Outrights

Cole Custer (+300)

The defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer will hope to leave the series behind with one more title on his resumé.

He won this race last year and has four career T5 and sevent T10s in his Xfinity career at Phoenix. The No. 00 led 61 laps in the spring and finished P5. Those results make him the clear favorite to win this weekend at +300 on DraftKings.

In 2024, Custer has a pair of victories (at Pocono and Bristol), 14 T5s and 22 T10s. In his last five races on traditional ovals, Custer has finished no worse than P8. That includes his Bristol win and a pair of runner-up finishes.

Justin Allgaier (+350)

Right on Custer’s heels all season and in the books this week is Justin Allgaier, the second-favorite this weekend at +350 on DraftKings.

The 38-year-old qualified for the Championship 4 for a third straight year and has raced for a title in five of the last six seasons. But in his 14th full-time season in this series, Allgaier has yet to claim its championship.

In 2024, the No. 7 team has won twice (Darlington and Michigan) and earned 9 T5s and 19 T10s.

Phoenix has long been a strong track for Allgaier, winning twice and leading 596 total laps here. He’s also earned 10 T5s and 18 T10s in the desert. Recently, the No. 7 has a pair of P3s in the fall races, rebounding from incidents in the spring races each year.

Austin Hill (+1500)

The king of superspeedways, Austin Hill, has found himself in the title race after a victory at Homestead in the Round of 8. Hill’s earned four victories in 2024, with the other trio all coming on superspeedways. That leaves him at a longer-shot +1500 to win Saturday night in the desert.

The No. 21 has also had a solid season, earning 11 T5 and 19 T10 finishes. Hill was P4 in the spring at Phoenix and has four T10 finishes here, meaning he’s got what it takes to mix it up in this title fight.

A.J. Allmendinger (+2000)

The longshot of this Championship 4 is A.J. Allmendinger, a consistent veteran heading back to Cup who hasn’t had his strongest season in 2024.

His No. 16 team didn’t win a stage until Atlanta in September and didn’t win a race until Las Vegas, which locked him into the title race.

Seven T5 and 17 T10 finishes is far from a bad year, but on traditional ovals, it hasn’t been stellar. Outside of both Las Vegas races, only a pair of other events (Charlotte and Texas) have resulted in T5s on traditional ovals this season.

He’s also a longshot because Phoenix hasn’t been his best track. He’s finished T5 in three races but has only led five laps in the desert. Allmendinger finished P18 here in the spring.
