PropKings: NFL Wild Card Weekend (2024)

by Samwise

“PropKings” is an article series revealing our staff’s best prop bets across the NFL, College Football, NASCAR and PGA Tour. This write-up features my favorite NFL player prop bets for the 2024-25 Wild Card Weekend games.

We are cruising into the postseason on a two-week streak that has us up 7-2 with money to burn. There are a lot of drool-worthy player prop bets staring us right in the face, so I picked out my six favorites, including one from each contest. With any luck, we’ll crush the books and get our bankroll up even more before the Divisional Round!

As always, I’ll post some extra picks (including spreads and totals) on my Twitter/X account @BuyAndSellYou before the games. Let’s see what Vegas has in store for us to take advantage of.

NFL Wild Card Player Prop Bets of the Week (2024 Postseason)

C.J. Stroud (QB, Houston Texans) | Over 0.5 Interceptions (-130)

I’m not typically a fan of taking -130 money, but this seems like the old candy/baby cliche, and C.J. Stroud is the proverbial baby. After a hyper-efficient 2023 season, the Texans’ quarterback regressed and has thrown 12 picks in 17 games to earn a passer rating of 87.0. The Los Angeles Chargers defense is fifth in the league in interceptions with 15. Joe Mixon will fail to find running room, forcing Stroud to throw often and giving the Chargers ample opportunities. It’s a prop made in heaven.

George Pickens (WR, Pittsburgh Steelers) | Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (+170)

I’m expecting a big bounce-back from George Pickens here after he had more drops than a bottle of Clear Eyes last week against Cincinnati, and I don’t think 70 yards is far-fetched. On Nov. 17, against this same Ravens squad, the football magnet went for eight catches and 89 yards. It’s not like Baltimore’s pass defense has gotten better; they are still allowing 23 completions and 263 yards through the air per game, which is the second-most in the NFL. The Ravens might take control, but that means more airing it out to Pickens in the second half.

Marvin Mims (WR, Denver Broncos) | Over 40.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Tell me I’m dreaming, but I think the Denver Broncos can hang with the Buffalo Bills in this game, especially if the latter takes them lightly. One of the keys will be this speedster-turned-secret weapon. Marvin Mims has eclipsed 50 yards in three of his last five games and gotten a long reception of 30-plus yards in six of his last seven. He also had a 93-yard touchdown for good measure. Buffalo ranks in the lower-third of the league in passing yards per game, and Mims’ ability to skate past the secondary and get open will ensure multiple long-ball targets from Bo Nix.

Emanuel Wilson (RB, Green Bay Packers) | Long Rush Over 5.5 Yards (-125)

Not unlike the Stroud prop, I don’t like the payout here, but if it’s a slam-dunk, it’s a slam-dunk. Emanuel Wilson went from simply spelling Josh Jacobs to working himself into an important piece of the Packers’ game plan. The 226-pounder had 31 carries over the last three games, and he’s averaging 4.9 Yards Per Carry (YPC). He also had long rushes of 21, 14 and 17 yards in those three contests. Back in Week 1 of the season, when the Packers also faced the Philadelphia Eagles, Wilson rattled off four carries for 46 yards (an average of 11.5 yards) with a long of 18. He should easily hit this over during Wild Card Weekend.

Terry McLaurin (WR, Washington Commanders) | Over 60.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Terry McLaurin hauled in the game-winning touchdown with two seconds left on the clock in Week 18, capping off yet another consistent season for the veteran. Throughout the year, he racked up 1,096 yards on 82 catches, averaging 13.4 Yards Per Reception (YPR), and scored 13 touchdowns. He averaged over 64 yards per affair and gets Tampa Bay in a probable shootout on Sunday.

The Buccaneers boast the third-worst passing defense (ranking just ahead of Baltimore) and the stars are aligned for Jayden Daniels to look for McLaurin early and often. I think hitting the century mark here is more likely than his average, which is already north of what he needs for this prop.

Jordan Addison (WR, Minnesota Vikings) | Anytime Touchdown (+145)

Jordan Addison has been one of the hottest receivers in the league down the stretch. Expect the Vikings to come out shooting in Los Angeles, eager to put their meager Week 18 showing against the rival Lions behind them. The Rams’ passing defense is kind to their opponents, ranking 10th from the bottom in yards allowed. Additionally, they are fifth-worst in passing touchdowns allowed, having given up an eye-popping 29 scores over 17 games.

Addison has not gone two games without finding paydirt since Weeks 2 and 3, and since he didn’t score last week, the odds are in his favor. The Rams will concentrate on putting extra help over the top on Justin Jefferson, leaving Addison, who has scored seven TDs in his last eight games, running free. This line is a Wild Card Weekend treat.

Best of luck with all of your bets this weekend, and see you next week for the Divisional Round! Brick by brick, we build!
