Justin Thomas: Top-10 Finish (+330)

Justin Thomas’ game is quietly trending in the right direction heading into the Genesis Scottish Open. He has five T10 finishes in fourteen starts this season, with three coming in his last six events. The statistical metrics that I’m weighing the heaviest this week are strokes gained around the green, strokes gained tee-to-green and driving distance. In 2023, Thomas ranked fourth, 18th and 38th in these categories. This course calls for areas of the game that were his strong suits, even in what was a down year for “JT.”

Thomas’ above-average length off the tee should set him up well to go at these pins. Having a strong approach game is important here at The Renaissance Club, and one of the better golfers at approaching greens over the past 10 years is starting to heat up.

The weather forecast for later in the week seems to be rather mild compared to what we are traditionally used to seeing out of Scotland. Given that Thomas has scored a T10 finish in 50% of his past six events and is going into a course that suits his game, I have to play this number.
