BMW Championship 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Top-5 Finish: Xander Schauffele (+105)
This is a difficult tournament to handicap, as we have not seen the world’s best hit this track in a long time, and it is tough to find a true comparison. The golfers must be able to adjust to the elevation to find success. This will require them to be sharp with both their calculations and execution.
I’m looking for a player/caddie duo that works well together and is known for being on the same page. At this point in the year, few players are dialed in, and I feel comfortable leaning toward one who has been crisp with his irons recently and comes into this event in good form. It really comes down to who you think will post the low scores, more often than not, at a course unfamiliar to most.
Picking the right yardage will come down to the caddie. Xander Schauffele has had the same caddie throughout his entire PGA Tour career, Austin Kaiser. The BMW Championship will be about Kaiser just as much as it will be about Schauffele.
From there, it will come down to ball striking and being able to avoid making large numbers. In 2024, Schauffele ranks fifth on Tour in ball striking, fourth in strokes gained on approach and first in bogey avoidance. I like the long-time duo to be a part of the cream that rises to the top this week. They’ve finished in the T5 in the last two events, and I like their chances of doing it again at Castle Pines Golf Club.
