Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches 2024 Prop Bet of the Week

Denny McCarthy: Top-20 Finish (+240)

The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches is a true test of golf. Players who are great at gaining shots on the field, scoring well on par-4s, avoiding bogeys and scrambling will fare well here.

At the price, this is a must-play for me this week. Last year on Tour, Denny McCarthy ranked 36th in overall strokes-gained, 15th in par-4 scoring, 57th in bogey avoidance and 18th in scrambling.

The overwhelming favorite, Rory McIlroy, headlines this event, but the strength of the field drops off after him. McCarthy has been teetering on the top-20 bubble this year with T26, T24 and T22 finishes. His game is in relatively good form. That, coincided with his T3 finish at this event in 2021 and a relatively weak field, is why I think McCarthy is primed to get his magic working again here this week. I want to buy low.
