Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches 2024

Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches 2024 Betting Picks

Eric Cole (+2500)
Min Woo Lee (+3000)
Rasmus Hojgaard (+5000)
Alexander Bjork (+18000)

Eric Cole (+2500)

In his rookie of the year season last year, Eric Cole placed second at PGA National, which came as no surprise to me. Cole seems like he is a near-perfect fit for this course. His form coming in this year is red hot, as well. In his last 10 starts, he has only missed the cut once, and he has four T10s, two T13s, a T14 and a T21. Not too shabby. He continues to gain in nearly every category.

Cole is very average off the tee, but in his last appearance here, he gained over two strokes and complimented that by gaining 4.2 on approach. PGA National has trouble lurking everywhere, and Cole is one of the best in the field at avoiding those traps and giving strokes back. He didn’t get it done last year, but I think he closes it out this time around!

Min Woo Lee (+3000)

I’m Betting Min Woo Lee early and often this season. He has made my card almost every time he has teed it up. He is going to win this season. Lee hasn’t quite put it all together in the U.S. yet, but he will. He hasn’t missed a cut since May of last year and has a win at the Australian PGA Championship and a third place at the Irish Open over that stretch. He gains most of his strokes off of the tee, but he has a sweet spot on approach from 140-175, which is the perfect range for the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.

Lee is a player with the ability to grind it out and scramble to avoid bogeys. That skill will come in handy this week. He also knows how to navigate windy conditions and less-than-perfect setups. Hard course, hard conditions; Min Woo Lee can absolutely get it done!

Rasmus Hojgaard (+5000)

Don’t be fooled this week. This is Rasmus Hojgaard, not his twin brother Nicolai Hojgaard, whom we have talked about nonstop lately. Rasmus Hojgaard is being disrespected at 50-1. He is every bit as good as his brother, if not better.

He has been dominating the DP World Tour as of late, with no worse than a T26 in his last 11 starts. He has five T10s, including a second place and three T11s. So yeah… he’s playing some really solid golf. He is averaging 9.5 strokes gained to the field week after week. He is possibly the best putter in the field at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches and has the ability to be absolutely lethal on approach.

Move over, Nicolai! It’s Rasmus’ week! He is someone to whom I would also ladder a T5 and T10 bet to go all in!

Alexander Bjork (+20000)

Alexander Bjork is an interesting value this week. Odds of 200-1 are definitely too long for a player of his caliber. He does come with some volatility, but that is to be expected with a longshot bet.

Bjork has enjoyed great success on the DP World Tour, with eight T10s in 23 starts over the last 12 months. He is an excellent ball striker, and he rated out second in this field over his last 100 rounds for shots gained on approach. He is shorter than I would like off the tee, but he does hit fairways at a 71.28% clip. Bjork’s best approach distances are from 175+, which – as a shorter hitter – he will see plenty from that range.

He rates out No. 4 overall in my model and had the highest value projected in this field for both betting and DFS. Bjork could be the next longshot winner come Sunday at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches!
