Jhonattan Vegas: Top-20 Finish (+210)
Vidanta Vallarta is a golf course that tends to favor longer hitters. In addition to being long off of the tee, it helps to have a great approach game. Jhonattan Vegas is someone who possesses the skills that it takes to find success at this venue.
Some key metrics being emphasized this week include total driving, greens-in-regulation percentage and proximity to the hole from the fairway. In 2024, Vegas ranks fifth on Tour in total driving, fifth in greens-in-regulation percentage and 25th in proximity to the hole from the fairway. Being long off of the tee has faired well here for the two previous winners of this event, and Vegas ranks 27th in driving distance this year.
His game sets up great for this course. Coming off of a T22 finish in his last event at the WM Phoenix Open, his game appears to be in enough form to find himself pushing for another T20 finish here in the weakest field of the year so far.
