WM Phoenix Open 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Akshay Bhatia: Top-10 Finish (+550)
TPC Scottsdale offers a unique layout that prioritizes certain metrics of the golf game. There’s a strong correlation between players who possess these skills and those who have found great success here in the recent past. These include par 4 scoring average, par 5 scoring average, shots gained off-the-tee, total driving, approach from 125-150 yards out and approach from 175-200. Being able to position yourself well off of the tee will be paramount this week.
Akshay Bhatia ranked 32nd in shots gained off-the-tee in 2023 and 11th in total driving. This will set him up well and allow for the rest of his game to shine, where he ranked seventh in par 4 scoring average and 23rd in par 5 scoring average.
It’s common for players to find themselves faced with 125-150-yard shots into the green at this track. Bhatia ranked 13th in this category last year. Across the board, this course sets up extremely well for him. So far, through the first month of 2024, he’s played in four events and has three top-15 finishes. He’s been knocking on the top-10 door, and I like his odds of breaking through this week at the WM Phoenix Open.
