Tootsie’s Picks: 2024 NFL Futures (PrizePicks Player Predictions) | Sophomores Edition

by Rachel (@tootsiepop6)

We are just one month away from the 2024 NFL season starting. I previously gave you my PrizePicks NFL Futures picks for both the rookies class and the veterans. Let’s dig a little deeper and look at another interesting class: the sophomores. These players were rookies last year who showed significant promise. Gearing up to build upon last season, these three are the ones to watch this year.

Let’s go and look at a few of my favorite 2024 NFL futures PrizePicks player predictions for the sophomore class.

2024 NFL Futures: PrizePicks Player Predictions

Bijan Robinson (RB, Atlanta Falcons) MORE Than 975.5 Rushing Yards

As the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson entered the NFL with a lot of excitement and hype surrounding him. In his rookie season, Robinson had 976 rushing yards. This line is on par with that, and it would be expected that a second-year talent would improve upon his previous year.

Going into this season, the Falcons now have Kirk Cousins as quarterback. Cousins suffered a torn right Achilles in Week 8 of last year with the Minnesota Vikings. Coming back from this type of injury, Cousins’ ability to plant on his back foot may be limited as the season starts. Because of this and Cousins adjusting to a new offense, it’s likely the veteran QB will be leaning on Robinson’s rushing ability. Smash the over on this PrizePicks prediction of more than 975.5 rushing yards on the season.

Tank Dell (WR, Houston Texans) LESS Than 65.5 Receptions

As part of the Houston Texans, who won the AFC South last year, wide receiver Tank Dell, entering his second year, is a notable favorite in fantasy football drafts. However, the Texans’ offense got bolstered in the offseason with the addition of veteran talent Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon. This is in addition to the current weapons of Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz. When it comes to prop bet lines involving receptions for this offense, I have reservations concerning how C.J. Stroud will spread things around this season.

In 2023, Dell had 47 receptions on his 11 games played, which breaks down to 4.3 receptions per game. Based on that ratio, he had the potential to see 72.6 receptions in a full season. Notwithstanding, we must factor in the additional mouths to feed on this offense. As much as I love Dell this year, I anticipate his number of receptions will be affected. Take the lower on 65.5 receptions for this PrizePicks prop line.

Jayden Reed (WR, Green Bay Packers) MORE Than 4.5 Receiving TDs

As a second-rounder in the 2023 NFL Draft, wide receiver Jayden Reed exploded on the scene last year. The Green Bay Packers’ offense is rising up with a young receiver room that includes Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks under quarterback Jordan Love. With a total of 20 red zone looks, Reed had eight receiving touchdowns in the 2023 season. His connection with Love is undeniable. He should easily surpass 4.5 touchdowns this season. I’m going all-in on the sophomore Reed finding the endzone at least five times in 2024.

This sophomore class will be exciting to watch this year. I have my eye on this talented crew. Who are some of your favorites?
