3M Open Betting Picks

Lucas Glover (+4500)
Lucas Glover has been on quite the run over the last four weeks, with three top-five finishes in his last four starts. He’s getting it done tee-to-green, and his approach game specifically has been second to none. In his last start, he gained almost 10 strokes on approach alone. His around-the-green game and putting have remained a little suspect, but even that has been flat to the field. TPC Twin Cities is another straightforward course with plenty of scoring opportunities for golfers with a good approach game. I like where he is setting up this week. If he keeps the accurate tee-to-green game rolling, he will likely to be in the running for the 3M Open trophy come Sunday.
Mark Hubbard (+5500)
I’m a sucker for Mark Hubbard. I just love the guy. His whole vibe is a kin to my own. That bias aside, he’s playing some excellent golf right now and is trending toward a win. Hubbard is a player who ramps up and doesn’t usually pop up out of nowhere. This is a lesser field event on a course that is very gettable. I think there is a strong chance for Hubbard to grab a win here at the 3M Open.
He has three top 10s in his last six starts, and his approach game has been rock solid, averaging almost four strokes gained over that stretch. His putter has also steadily gained 2.1 strokes over the last 12 measured rounds. If there is anything suspect about his game, it’s the off-the-tee part. It’s not always the best, nor the longest. I think this is a course that can be dominated by accurate bombers but could very easily be conquered by a player like Hubbard by way of a deadly accurate approach game.
Chez Reavie (+9000)
Solid short game? Check. Accurate approach game? Absolutely! Chez Reavie is rating out No.1 in this field for shots gained approach and has had a stout short game to complement it. His off-the-tee game is pretty much right in the middle of the field; however, he is more accurate than a lot of these shorter hitters off the tee. Reavie hasn’t missed a cut since back at the beginning of May. His game has been very consistent. I think we have a good shot at Chez making some noise on the weekend here at the 3M Open. He is a cut above in terms of approach play and scoring opportunities. 90/1 just seems like a great value on a player who can absolutely hold his own in this field.
Peter Kuest (+11000)
I’m back on Peter Kuest again this week. He is proving to be one of the top prospects on Tour this year. In his last five starts, he has three top-20 finishes – one of those being a T4. He absolutely nukes the ball, averaging 332 yards per drive over his last 12 rounds. He is in the top 10 in this field for every ball-striking metric and, specifically, has had a very good approach game to compliment his massive drives. His last time out, he missed the cut, so there is some volatility with him. I think we are getting a great number on a player who is very hot and capable of winning the 3M Open going away. I think we might catch the books sleeping on this one!
