2023 US Open Golf: Early Odds & Best Bets

  • Brooks Koepka (+1200)
  • Colin Morikowa (+2200)
  • Hideki Matsuyama (+3500)
  • Justin Suh (+20000)

Brooks Koepka (+1200)

It’s a Major. Bet Brooks Koepka. I could leave it there. I called Brooks at The Masters and the PGA Championship. So I feel like I’m pretty in tune with “Ole Brooksy.”  Runner-up at The Masters and winner at the PGA Championship. Safe to say, Koepka is officially back to his dominant form.

He has been producing on the LIV tour as well. 2023 has been a good year, and I don’t see it stopping. Koepka has as complete a game as anyone in golf. He dominates the approach on any course, can crush the ball off of the tee and continues to show better-than-average accuracy when doing so. Koepka has the killer instinct and is out to prove he is one of the best in the world regardless of what tour he is playing on, or course, for that matter. I’ve learned the hard way in the past with Brooks. Don’t doubt him in big-time events; throw him on your US Open golf betting cards.

Collin Morikawa (+2200)

Though Collin Morikawa hasn’t had any standout performances as of late, I still believe he is one of the most dominant ball strikers in the game today. His approach game is one aspect of his game that seems to be steadfast, and at a course like the Los Angeles Country Club, iron play will be absolutely critical. Specifically, long iron play may end up being a key differentiator for the winner of this tournament. Morikawa is excellent from longer approach distances, ranking inside the top 10 of all PGA Tour players over the last 50 rounds of play. He is also accurate off the tee and will have the precision to set himself up for his second shot. He is always live to win, and I don’t want to be out on him if he does.

Hideki Matsuyama (+3500)

Hideki Matsuyama is coming off a T16 at The Memorial Tournament, including a second-round -7 score. He seems to be really rounding into form. I liked him coming into The Memorial for similar reasons to why I like him at the Los Angeles Country Club. He is in the top 10 for approach and is  No.1 in approach from 200-plus yards over the last 36 measured rounds. He is also in the top 10 for bogey avoidance and recovery stats, which will be very important with this venue being tuned and groomed to play as tough as possible. I love this number on Matsuyama. Add it to your US Open golf bet slip before it slides.

Justin Suh (+20000)

Justin Suh is another golfer currently shooting lights out and leading at The Memorial. Suh is a player that our team has been tracking and recommending every week. He is within striking distance of winning and just needs to have a week that he puts it all together from start to finish. He is another long iron wizard with solid avoidance of big numbers on tough courses. He’s relatively long and accurate off the tee, averaging 307 yards at a 60% accuracy rate. This is a golfer that feels mispriced. He is way more live to win than the 200/1 odds would imply. He’s also very live to miss the cut, but at this price, I will have a few units invested before he wins in the next two weeks and his number drops into mid-double digits.
