You can bet your magical britches we’ll be getting some PGA DFS action on the first Tour event to grace Utah since the 1960s. The Black Desert Championship will be held at Black Desert Golf Club, a 7,300-yard par-71 in the high desert country of Utah. Scoring will be bountiful, along with a smattering of some of the hottest rising stars in the world of golf.
The key to this course will be either a bomb-and-gouge approach or a stellar short game that results in multiple hole-out shots. I’d bet it will be the former that wins as a strategy. There isn’t much to go on, since this event is brand-spanking new. It’s a great opportunity to play your favorite golfers and enjoy the action.

PGA DFS: Black Desert Championship 2024
My Most-Rostered Player: Michael Thorbjornsen ($8,800)
We’ve seen immense success on the heels of a PGA Tour University Championship before. Ludvig ร berg took the golf world by storm in his second season after wrecking college golf for Texas Tech. This upcoming season’s incarnation will be Stanford’s Michael Thorbjornsen, whose junior season scoring average was Scottie Scheffler-like.
Thorbjornsen was in second place after the first round at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship and turned in a solid T10finish. I expect him to continue to stay hot, making birdies on this 7,300-yard track at altitude in Utah.
Other Players in My Black Desert Championship Player Pool
- Kurt Kitayama ($10,200)
- Ryan Fox ($9,200)
- Chandler Phillips ($7,600)
- David Skinns ($7,200)
