2024 Paris Olympics Golf Competition Prop Bet of the Week
Corey Conners: Top-20 Finish (-175)
The field of 60 players begin their quest for gold this week. They will be faced with a fair test of golf that will favor the traditional type of golfer. The age-old adage of hitting fairways and greens will play a huge role in finding success this week.
The course that the Olympians will be battling on this week isn’t extremely long. In order to separate themselves they will need to give themselves ample opportunities from the fairway to attack pines. Someone in particular that I’ve had my eye on the past few weeks is Corey Conners, whose game fits this course. He ranks 27th in strokes gained off the tee, fourth in strokes gained approach, 34th in driving accuracy percentage and 11th in greens-in-regulation percentage.
The Canadian should have a great run at scoring in this event and find himself another quality finish. This field is dwindled down to 60, and frankly, there are a fair amount of golfers on the board that I wouldn’t consider to be playing anywhere near the caliber of golf that Conners is at the moment.
Conners has managed to find a T20 finish in five of his last eight starts. In those events that he didn’t find a T20, his finishes were 26th, 27th and 25th. I’m content with laying a little juice and feeling more confident and comfortable – essentially buying ten extra spots – as opposed to reaching for a T10 prop at plus money odds and paying the price of not cashing a ticket if he finds himself positioned 11-19 when the tournament concludes on Sunday.
