The CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Jason Day: Top-10 Finish (+240)
Fireworks and low scores are to be expected at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson this week. One statistical category that has reigned supreme here in years past is the ability to be long off of the tee. Even with a long ball off of the tee, it’s common to then still face a 200+-yard approach shot into the green on some holes.
One metric that I am weighing heavily this week is Total Driving. Jason Day ranked 22nd on the PGA tour in total driving in 2023 and ranks eighth on Tour so far this season. To keep pace with the rest of the field, avoiding bogies is also paramount here. Day ranked 16th in that category in 2023.
My model loves him, and it’s no surprise why he found himself contending for this event last year, ultimately winding up in the winner’s circle. You’re rarely able to find value on a defending champion. Given how well his game sets up for this course – unless he has a below-average week by his standards – I expect him to make his way to the top of the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon.
