As Week 6 approaches, fantasy managers are faced with tough decisions surrounding injuries, bye weeks and underperforming players. Staying active on the waiver wire can be the difference between a winning season and one that falls short. With that in mind, we’ve identified some hidden gems who could make an impact in the coming weeks.
Here are some Week 6 waiver wire targets anf free agent finds to consider snagging before they’re gone.
Rostership percentages courtesy of ESPN Points Per Reception (PPR) redraft fantasy football leagues as of Tuesday, Oct. 8.
- Josh Downs (WR, Indianapolis Colts) | 34.9%
- JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR, Kansas City Chiefs) | 4.4%
- Tre Tucker (WR, Las Vegas Raiders) | 17.0%
- Jordan Whittington (WR, Los Angeles Rams) | 11.1%
- Jalen Tolbert (WR, Dallas Cowboys) | 7.6%
- Quentin Johnston (WR, Los Angeles Chargers) | 33.3%
- Xavier Legette (WR, Carolina Panthers) | 35.0%
- Allen Lazard (WR, New York Jets) | 38.0%
- Tutu Atwell (WR, Los Angeles Rams) | 25.0%
Erick All Jr. (TE, Cincinnati Bengals) | 2.4%
If you’re scrambling for tight end help after injuries or disappointing performances, Bengals rookie Erick All Jr. is worth a speculative add. Over the last two weeks, All Jr. has led the Bengals’ tight ends in snaps, with 60% in Week 4 and 52% in Week 5, and had six total targets in that span. With Mike Gesicki being used less, All Jr. has emerged as a key part of the offense, ranking No. 2 among all tight ends in target rate (36.4%) and No. 3 in fantasy points per route run (0.61).
With the Bengals sporting the second-worst scoring defense, high-scoring game scripts could be in the Iowa product’s favor. As the team looks to evaluate their young talent amidst a 1-4 start, All Jr. is a great low-cost pickup with the potential for big upside from the leftovers of the Week 6 waiver wire pool.
Xavier Hutchinson (WR, Houston Texans) | 0.1%
Darius Slayton (WR, New York Giants) | 4.2%
Darius Slayton continues to be a deep threat for the Giants, offering fantasy managers an option with big-play potential. Slayton’s speed and ability to get downfield make him a valuable asset, especially in matchups where the Giants need to stretch the field. He’s been consistently involved in the offense and has the potential for explosive games.
In addition, rumors of a possible trade to a team like the Chiefs or Bills could boost Slayton’s fantasy stock even further. Whether he remains with the Giants or moves to a more high-powered offense, Slayton is worth a look for managers in need of wide receiver help.
