PropKings: NFL Week 14 (2024)

by Samwise

“PropKings” is an article series revealing our staff’s best prop bets across the NFL, College Football, NASCAR and PGA Tour. This write-up features my favorite NFL Week 14 player props.

Hidden in all the Josh Allen talk was us nailing the James Cook anytime touchdown prop for a nice gain! There’s no time to pat ourselves on the back, though. Week 14 is already here! Let’s see if we can drum up some wins and add to our wallet.

NFL Week 14 Player Prop Bets of the Week (2024)

A.J. Brown (WR, Philadelphia Eagles) | Over 25.5 Yards Longest Reception (-120)

Expecting a player to eclipse 25 yards on a single catch seems like a longshot gamble, but A.J. Brown has repeatedly proven his ability to get open downfield. Brown comes in with 793 yards on the year and may have DeVonta Smith back to draw coverage. Few defensive backs in the league can match up with him. For the season, Brown is already averaging 18 Yards Per Reception (YPR), has cashed this prop six times in nine contests, and came within a half-yard of making it seven.

Carolina is a dream matchup for offenses. They allow the second-most passing yards to opposing teams (392.1) and don’t have anyone to match up with Brown. They’ve already been beaten on this prop by the likes of Rashid Shaheed, Quentin Johnston, Ja’Marr Chase and Courtland Sutton (among others). This stands to be a big game for the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley, but you can expect Brown to be in on the act.

Kirk Cousins (QB, Atlanta Falcons) | Under 245.5 Passing Yards (-120)

Kirk Cousins has gone over 245 yards passing precisely three times this season. He did it against Tampa Bay twice and New Orleans, although they are not exactly world-beaters against the pass in 2024. In addition, Cousins is playing some of his worst football of the season and runs headfirst into a Vikings team trying to keep pace with Detroit. In his last three outings, the former Viking has quarterback ratings of 40, 68.9 and 75.1, while lobbing zero touchdowns and six interceptions.

It doesn’t help that Cousins will try to light up the scoreboard and reverse that three-game skid on the road, where he is 35-42-2 for his career. Sure, he played in Minnesota, but that doesn’t change the fact that he seems to have an aversion to away games. Minnesota has sacked the quarterback 39 times this season while forcing a jaw-dropping 18 interceptions – the most in the NFL. Perhaps if this were a home game for Cousins, the “revenge game” narrative might apply, and he’d throw for 500 yards. However, the odds are stacked against him to conquer the Vikings’ secondary, even in a losing effort.

Elijah Moore (WR, Cleveland Browns) | Over 4.5 Receptions (+105)

When we last saw Elijah Moore, he and Jerry Jeudy put on a clinic in the Browns’ loss to the Denver Broncos. The two combined for 17 catches and now take their show to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers for the second time in three games. In that first matchup (a 24-19 Browns win), Moore had just three catches for 21 yards. However, that was with Cedric Tillman taking meaningful snaps. That won’t be the case on Sunday, as Tillman has already been ruled out for the game.

The fact that Moore has the same number of catches in this prop as No. 1 receiver Jeudy tells me that Vegas thinks they’ll do everything possible with their coverage shifts to prevent the latter from beating them. Enter Moore, who showed a solid rapport with quarterback Jameis Winston last week. He immediately benefits from the extra coverage afforded to Jeudy and will be there to rack up the catches in his stead. This game total is set at just 43.5, but with both teams performing better against the run, they’ll have no choice but to air it out again.

Bonus Bet: Calvin Ridley (WR, Tennessee Titans) | Anytime Touchdown (+180) – Revenge game mania!

Best of luck with all of your bets this weekend. Brick by brick, we build!
