Presidents Cup 2024 Prop Bet of the Week
Top Point Scorer: Tom Kim (+1600)
There is some stiff competition for this one to come through, but if anyone in double-digit odds can make a run at it, it’s Tom Kim. Full transparency: I’m snagging the Scottie Scheffler (+600) here, as well. Kim, though, is a player who thrives in the head-to-head team environment and carries a fire second to none. Attitude and vibe aren’t strokes gained metrics, but they damn well should be.
Kim crushed it on Saturday at the last President’s Cup, breathing life into the International Team. Flash forward to the man today who is a more well-rounded and seasoned player and still has the ferocity to be a difference-maker at The Royal Montreal Golf Club. He did have a bit of a mixed bag of results this season on Tour, with just two T10 finishes and no wins in 23 starts. However, I’m interested in Kim here, given his elite ball striking. This course is not overly long and requires an accurate approach to smaller-than-average greens. I typically gravitate to him on tracks that don’t require a lot of length off the tee, and that fits the bill here.
Kim rates out third in strokes gained approach over the last 24 rounds and second in opportunities gained from the approach ranges we have keyed into at Royal Montreal. He rated out just behind Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Colin Morikawa for me. That is some elite company. I’m expecting him to come out and light up the Presidents Cup with his irons!
