You may have noticed a lack of activity if you had notifications on for your fantasy league in Week 7. It was by far the most funky; I can’t make sense of why this happened so far into the season. With the NFL making trades like a middle school kid playing “Madden” all night, letโs get after it and make some of our own with our Week 8 fantasy football trade targets!
Week 8 Fantasy Football Trade Targets (2024)
Trade For: Keon Colemanย (WR, Buffalo Bills)ย
Last week, I recommended trading for Jacksonville Jaguars rookie WR Brian Thomas Jr. This week, Iโm pushing another rookie, the Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Keon Coleman.ย
Coleman showcased his potential in his best game as a pro this week, drawing seven targets and catching four for 125 yards. With a 22% target share and 34% air yards share, both career highs, Coleman’s future looks promising, especially with new teammate Amari Cooper now in the mix.ย
In fact, when Spectrum News reporter Andy Young asked Coleman how Cooper would help the offense, he said this:
I asked Keon Coleman how Amari Cooper can help the #Bills offense.
“Same thing like adding another person with money in your household. Help you pay everything. Help everything out. Help everybody else get open and just bring more threat to the offense.”#BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/u0TrUhJLmd

Over the last few years, rookie receivers have been an excellent bet to break out over the back half of the season. While Coleman hasnโt been the talk of the town yet like Malik Nabers, Marvin Harrison Jr.ย or Brian Thomas Jr., his time could be just around the corner, making him the perfect fantasy football trade target ahead of Week 8.
Trade Away: Nick Chubb (RB, Cleveland Browns)ย
The best story coming out of Sunday was the return of Nick Chubb. Three hundred ninety-eight days after suffering a gruesome knee injury, the former Georgia Bulldog returned to the field for Cleveland.ย
All things considered, Chubb saw a pretty decent workload in his first time back in action. He had 11 carries for 22 yards and added one catch for another 10 yards. He also found the end zone for the first time since Jan. 8, 2023. These are all good things.ย
While I expect Chubb to lead this backfield in touches the rest of the season, it will be uphill for him and this Cleveland offense as a whole. After trading WR Amari Cooper earlier in the week, QB Deshaun Watsonย suffered an Achilles tear on Sunday. Cleveland must now turn to Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the backup QB in Week 7, or Jameis Winston, who served as the emergency third QB. Both players saw action after “DTR” suffered a finger injury. This offense will need to find its footing quickly.ย
The Browns’ upcoming schedule isโฆ unhelpful. Their next six matchups are the Ravens, Chargers, Saints, Steelers, Broncos and Steelers again. While the Saints are giving up a plethora of fantasy points to the RB position, the other four teams are all in the bottom-13 in the league for points allowed to the position. If someone in your league thinks Chubb is returning to form, heโs a good candidate to move on from.
Trade Radar: Chuba Hubbard (RB, Carolina Panthers)
Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard has been one of the more surprising producers for fantasy football this season. Headed into Week 7, he was 11th in Points Per Reception (PPR) fantasy points per game, third in receptions at the RB position with 22 and averaging 5.4 Yards Per Carry (YPC). That’s not too shabby for a running back on a team struggling to assemble four quarters of competent football.ย
Second-round rookie RB Jonathon Brooks had his 21-day practice window opened earlier last week but ultimately did not make his NFL debut, leaving Hubbard to carry the load for the Panthers again.ย
Brooks will reduce Hubbardโs workload once heโs on the field, but given his production, it seems unlikely that Hubbard will fade into the abyss. Head coach Dave Canales has remained steadfast in saying that the team will bring Brooks along slowly.ย
With Hubbard set to be an Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA) in 2025 and the Panthers unlikely to sniff the playoffs, itโs possible the Panthers just give him the bulk of the work, even once Brooks is active. Hubbard might be one of the sneakiest buy-low candidates who can be a steady force in your fantasy lineup.
